Can You ID This Mushroom Deity?

I have recently come into possession of this charming fellow. I believe he is Teonanacatl, Maya deity of the mushroom (and debatably represents the pyschodelic shroom). I’d like your learned opinions on who he is and more information on him.

Oh, he’s definitely a replica. He was made by McNeal pharmaceuticals for some reason.
Thanks for your help

I would have gone for Vi, of the Agra people.

Nah, Viagra is made by Pfizer.

BTW, I also did a search trying to find why McNeal made this statue. I got nothing.

Sorry, didn’t do my background search. Does McNeil make an ED drug?

Looking at their Wikipedia page, it looks like they invented Tylenol. They currently make and sell over the counter stuff. A second company split from them and makes sweeteners.

You might try Terence McKenna’s The Food of the Gods: The Search for the Original Tree of Knowledge; A Radical History of Plants, Drugs, and Human Evolution. It’s been some time since I read the book, but I’m pretty sure he talks about such American mushroom gods:

Ahhhh, McNeil probably takes credit for the cut-rate, OTC “Viagra”:

A box of tongue depressors and a roll of duct tape.

Tried Yahoo instead of Google and found this

Are you SURE those are mushrooms? (especially the LAST one!)
