Can you identify another song???

The only coherent words that I could make out were:

“It’s all in my mind—don’t be unkind.”

And there’s a chorus of something like “did-ip, did-ip, did-ip”

Sounds 80ish, but I can’t be sure.

I heard these songs in a restaurant (which they get off a satellite).

Male or female vocalist?

How do you like that! And without so much as a “Kiss my foot” or “Have an apple”!

Male, and “Brit-sounding.”

This is just a shot in the dark.

Nah, I’d guess it’s Emerson, Lake, and Palmer’s From the Beginning.
Written by Greg Lake, originally on Trilogy album (and at least two “Best of…” albums since then).

Tom~

How embarrassing.

The songs come off a satellite, not the restaurant.

Oh, those misplaced modifiers.

I think Tom has the song.

Thanks.

I’m almost positive you heard a song by Love and Rockets, and damned if I can’t remember the title (8th grade was a long time ago). I’ll check my cassettes.

I could never sleep my way to the top/'cause my alarm clock always wakes me right up.

Love and Rockets is what came to my mined as well. The song, at least the L&R one is called “All in my Mind”.

Thanks. I’ll check that one, too.

Got another one of those “What song is this?” things for you all…

I think it was Yes, but I could be WAY off. The song came out right around 1990, and had this kinda cool “white-boy rap” thing in the middle of it. The first few words were something like “Relax” or “Get ready” or somesuch. The voice for the rap part was altered somehow, to make it sound lower/richer than usual.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

You thinking of “Roll the Bones,” by Rush? There’s a rap part in the middle that starts: “Jack, relax…”

And damn…now I need to go listen to that album again.

OMG! I think that’s it! This has been bugging me for years because for some stupid reason I thought it was Yes. (Did they maybe have a hit out at the same time as Roll the Bones?)

Manny thanks, Falcon!
