OK. You see how it can be when you recognize someone’s face, but you have a hard time placing them.
The dark-haired cop in the first photo is Paul Mantee. I remember him mainly from the movie ‘Robinson Crusoe on Mars.’
The older cop is Russell Thorson. I can’t off-hand give a specific program that he’s been in. I can just say that I recognize the face from. . . somewhere. (And I can’t refer to IMDB at this time.)
Gene Lyons has already been identified. He’s most identifiable, as has already been said, as an ambassador in a “Star Trek” episode, and as Ironside’s boss.
The “Robert-Davi-looking” guy is George Keymas. As with Thorson above, I can’t off-hand give a specific program that he’s been in. I can just say that I recognize the face.
The Black actor is Davis Roberts. I remember him mostly as the chain-smoking doctor in several appearances on “Sanford and Son.”
I’m not supplying links to their IMDB entries because lately our company firewall has been flagging the ads that IMDB has been showing as “possible malware.” (In the past it has also flagged SDMB ads for various “violations.”) That’s also why I can’t look over their filmographies to see where they would most stand out in my memory. I’m not worried about their ads, just that our firewall is flagging them.
And just in case you were curious, the color caps all come from episode “The Enemy” from the old TV series “The Invaders.” The last one, Roberts, was from “Decision in the Ring” from the 1960s “The Fugitive” series. Roberts was actually uncredited in that episode, and I had a hard time verifying his identity, since I don’t have the “Sanford and Son” DVDs handy, and online photos were not easy to find.
How I would have scored if I had been presented this same set:
I think I would have pegged Mantee, mainly because I had seen him recently in an “A-Team” rerun. Maybe, maybe not. I’d give myself ½ credit for that.
I would not have been able to name Russell Thorson, Gene Lyons or George Keymas,
The last name I thought was either Davis Roberts or Stack Pierce. Both did supporting character roles, but I couldn’t remember exactly what they looked like. I did think his voice sounded like the doctor from “Sanford and Son,” though. So ½ for that one. I would have given myself a 1 out of 5.
Thanks for the responses. If I do this again, it will be with faces I don’t know, and I’ll be looking for some help to id.
