I’ve just returned from a tour of the Napa/Sonoma valley wine country! Great place-and one I’d like to live in! Walking through the streets of Calistoga, I was wondering if you can earn a decnt living by running a trendy little shop or art gallery. It seems to me that if you are in an area frequented by the rich, just about everything in the way of a store does well. So-any small business owners ther-can I retire to wine country and open a victoria’s secret boutique?
Short answer…no. Not that there aren’t exceptions, but a lot of those cute boutiques are owned by the spouses of the well-to-do who want something to do and a tax write-off.
Probably depends on what you consider a living. Welathy? No. Enough to get by, probably so.
Little Shop! Little Shop of Horrors!
Sorry ralph124c but it popped in my head when I read the thread title and I had to let it out.
If that’s your dream, go for it. You won’t know if it’ll work til you try.
