Can you solve this math puzzle?

Three people check into a hotel, and the desk clerk charges them $10 each for the room, for a total of $30.

Later, the desk clerk realizes that he overcharged them, the room rate should have been $25. Feeling guilty, he decides to send the bellhop to the room to give the travelers their $5 change.

On the way up to the room, the bellhop can’t figure out how to split the $5 three ways, so he gives them $1 each and keeps $2 for himself.

That makes the total paid by each traveler $9, or $27 for the room.

The bellhop kept $2.

27+2=29

Where did the other dollar go?
