Pilot didn’t make it. Leaves behind a young family.

As a side, does anybody know how many CF-18s Canada has left in operational condition?

Damn. That’s bad. And he’d managed to eject.
Sheesh, thats really sad. In the years I’ve been going to Maple Flag, I’ve never even heard of anyone getting hurt. It’s quite the extravaganza.
Always sad when this happens, my heart goes out to his family.
I’m sorry Canada lost its Air Force.

Canada has about 120 CF-18s, but there is an upgrade program in the works with Boeing.
92 (well, 91 now) are being kept operational during the “Phase I” upgrade program.
