Canada media space is infested

I’m really amazed at the power of media and sophistication with which certain agenda can be brought alive and stir up emotions over an event that had a totally different dynamic from what is being presented.

While this event is being maintained alive in the lowest and skankiest of media in Canada it is interesting to what lengths will someone go in defaming and attacking an entire group.

So, here’s where it happened….

In Toronto, there is this talk-show station, AM640 with its morning host John Oakley who fills up the show with something akin to Fox News type of nonsense parading as conservative and right-of-centre opinions. Of course, all of it is being funded from certain special interest from supporters of a certain ME country but just to show how screwed up it is let me just say that they have a former US ambassador to UN as a regular contributor whose mantras are: “Iran has a bomb already”, “attack Iran ASAP” and “Obama has no clue”. I listen to it for a comedic relief which I believe is why many people listen/watch Fox News.

Now, here’s what happened…

About 2 weeks ago there was a protest that nobody knew about (I certainly did not; it was held at Toronto’s Queens Park – Ontario Parliament offices) related to Al-Qutb day where, as you might infer or Googled-it, there was a number of “angry Muslims”. On that day, if you were anywhere but Queens Park, you would have no idea that there was a protest going on. So, next day, a dude shows up at the AM640 radio complaining that Toronto Police infringed on his rights and got him temporary arrested. According to this dude, as the protest was going on he was just simply exercising his rights and freedoms by walking a huge Mastiff dog close to the people who were protesting. At one point, he says, he further exercised his freedom by taking his dog into the protesting crowd and at one point someone said something to him and then shoving happened (there is video of this specific point in time; dude name is Allan Einstoss). Now, right there, two Toronto Police officers were standing by, a mere metres away and at the first sign of shoving, they sprang to action and took the dude away and, actually, put him in handcuffs – he was let go when police told him he will not be charged if he leaves (needles to say, he took the offer). He’s now on the radio morning show blabbering about loss of his freedoms, and how “angry Muslims” are being protected while he has to suffer, and how Muslims don’t like dogs as per their religion, and how Toronto Police succumbed to “political correctness” etc etc etc

I did not pay too much attention to it at that time. I LOL’d every time this dude was claiming that “his rights were violated”.

However, I had to take another look once I heard that there is this Facebook group that calls for “take your dog to the mosque” day.

http://www.sunnewsnetwork.ca/sunnews/canada/archives/2012/08/20120822-194124.html

I took another look and the facts are alarmingly different from what has been presented so far.

Based on http://www.jewishtribune.ca/news/2012/08/21/police-hound-counter-protesters-at-al-quds-day-event and http://www.torontopetdaily.com/2012/08/things-that-make-me-go-grrrrallan.html I can now safely state that there is a movement in Canada totally unreported that is ethno-centric, has nothing to do with Canada and Canadian values, and this movement goal is to stir up anti-Muslim hysteria by making things up, by making lies publicly, defaming others by very cunning media operations.

So what really happened is that – at the same time as Al-Qutb protest - there was a counter-protest and this dude was a participant in that counter-protest that included Jewish Defence League types. I am sure that Toronto Police was there firstly to prevent any mixing of the two groups and this dude, this conniving SOB, defied that order by not only going to mingle with the other group but he brought a large mastiff dog – that also had a Israeli flag around his neck – for one and only reason – to incite and provoke what is usually a non-event.

What’s amazing to me is that despite all these facts this conniving SOB goes on and stirs the emotions further with nobody to call him on it and to expose his little dirty tricks as lowest form of incitement that there is.

And I wonder who does this? Who would stoop to this level of manipulation and out right bald lie to attack others he may disagree with? Well, obviously there are people whose job is to “import” their battles into Canada no matter what and they will invent and lie and pretend and do what ever is necessary to stir up other Canadians to grow hate they already have in large quantities.

I’m still thinking about this and the framework within which these lies and dirtiest propaganda are originated and cultivated but at least we know that there is one TV channel (Sun News Network) and radio channel (AM640) that enables these kinds of things in Canada.

It is incredible but one thing is sure – this whole anti-Muslim sentiment is being largely imported and paid for by a foreign interest and Canadians now have to suffer for it. While serious news (CBC, CTV ) wont touch this the worm is out and it’s working by pretending to be “news”.

From reading your links, I don’t see where you get “this movement['s] goal is to stir up anti-Muslim hysteria by making things up, by making lies publicly, defaming others by very cunning media operations.” Huh? There are people who are naturally opposed to the sentiments of Al-Quds Day, but that doesn’t make them cunning, hysterical liars.

On the other hand, taking potentially-dangerous dogs to a peaceful demonstration is an act of intimidation. It’s an attempt to limit the free speech of others rather than an exercise of your own, so good on the police for getting Einstoss out of there.

Okay, I read the OP, but I’m still not sure who the bad guys are here. Enlightenment, please?

Sorry to piggyback on your OP, but this part is instructive:

Toronto law enforcement (indeed, the whole province of Ontario) has an abysmal record of dealing fairly with dogs, thanks to the misguided panic-mongering of the province’s breed-specific legislation.

The traditional explanation for singling out some breeds to ban, but not others, is that bad guys only use those breeds, and will somehow be too stupid to switch to a different (and legal) breed to intimidate people.

So I get a twisted laugh out of seeing Toronto law enforcement / government authorities having trouble with a person intentionally misusing one of the legal breeds to intimidate. That ought to embarrass them.

.

Ummm, not that I really care too overly much, one way or the other, but…

Many devout Muslims really do not like dogs. I knew someone who would walk her dog past a mosque (not to stir up trouble but because it was the only route she could take out of her house) and if there were members of the congregation about they would all quietly move as far away as possible. So deliberately taking a massive dog into a group of Muslims seems to clearly be an antisocial and potentially provocative act. I have no sympathy for the man.

This guy appeared on radio show with the message that his “rights were violated” because police was making “unreasonable accommodation to Muslims” and all in the name of “political correctness” and he pointed out several times how someone shouted at him “don’t get your dog near our women”. He never mentioned what the protest was about, he never mentioned that there was a counter-protest which he was part of, that the dog had Israeli flag around his neck. He was all “I was exercising my right to walk around wherever I want and these Muslims prevented me from doing that and then police arrested (temporary) him”. He even threatened to sue (suprise  ) police for them taking his freedoms away; and all of that because police favours Muslims and their protest.

His presentation of facts was so awfully skewed and distorted with omissions and straight out lies yet he showed up on radio show and on the TV and nobody cared to examine what really happened.

Because when you actually realize what was going on there - essentially, two radical groups measuring d!cks at each other - you conclude that police reacted swiftly and appropriately. Yet this SOB, this POS has it in him to go on public record making things up and further stirring things up.

For the movement theory that I claim, I’d certainly need to present more cites and links but I’ll go out on a limb here - hopefully there are some people in GTA/Toronto who can corroborate - Sun TV News Network, AM640 radio, Sun newspaper and to a partial degree National Post are all public media places where - if you perform content analysis and look into what the stories are about - has a significant portion dedicated to anti-Muslim bashing from cultural and religious perspective.

No other media comes even close; in fact, if you’d remove these media outlets, you’d find no story that does this - orchestrated attack on an identifiable group.

Look into who the “journalists” are that come up with these stories and who is funding these media outlets and you will realize that certain ME conflict is being imported into Canada and with its cunningness and blatant lies has infested up to recently relatively mild media space in Canada.

AM640 radio, Sun TV News Network, Toronto Sun newspaper and to a degree, National Post newspaper.

Well, now you have “take your dog to a mosque day” thanks to this man. And all of that based on a massive lie and distortion of events supported by specific media in Toronto.

I’m sure he tried to “sell” this to CTV or CBC but they probably realized what’s going on and declined it.

What’s interesting to me is that the media in question has a habit, almost a pattern of bringing in the “stories” of interest to Canadian viewers where the main point is how Muslim traditions and/or cultural customs are contradictory to Canadian values.

But what’s really going on is that one side in ME conflict is usurping freedoms and democracy in this country for open bigotry against real/perceived “other side” in that same ME conflict.

What?

You don’t think that Israeli side is much better supported, presented, funded and lobbied for in Canadian (and US) media space?

The Muslims who were observing Al-Quds Day brought the conflict with them here, too, and considering its incendiary message, organizing a protest in a public park is an act of provocation to the other side. They can’t expect no reaction at all, so, aside from the stupidity of the dog owner, they don’t get any sympathy from me.

But your main point is that certain media are taking one side which I don’t like either, but I’m not in Toronto and can’t comment on that. If you think it’s going too far, you can let the offending companies know and/or lodge a complaint with the CRTC.

Media is pretty shitty all over, really. The main focus is sensationalism rather than fact delivery, and it has been for a while. My husband and I were kind of talking about this just this morning - we all heard about the lady who couldn’t stop her Kia, but will we ever hear what the results of the investigation are? Not likely.

No argument on that from me. But as much as I dislike fluffy, sensational news, overt bias gets me really riled, and I sympathize with the OP on that (if that’s the case as he put it).

Absolutely. I agree with you.

I have a big problem with various religious/ethnic groups bringing their grievances, perceived or real, into Canada.

However, there are many ways of how specific group brings it in and public protest — while annoying — is at least transparent.

As I was saying, the race to the bottom continues with a plan to show the movie that “started it all” in Toronto.

The idea is being put in public media space by an infamous guy named Ron Banerjee with his “Hindu Advocacy Group” (something like that got to be fine and dandy) who has a streak of “advocacy” that somehow happen to advocate only those who have a message of hate against Muslims is at it again.

Ron Banerjee once said everything you need to know about him:

See http://www.whoisronbanerjee.com/

This guy is simply a paid shill of a foreign state and their agents here in Canada to abuse freedoms and rule of law in Canada to perpetuate hate message and instigate troubles. In short, to infest Canadian public media space with making things up and hatemongering.

So, when they need to protect Jewish Canadians from hate speech and hate mongering B’nai Brith is there publicly. However, when they need to spew hate on others, willing and cheap “advocates” are always useful.

It reminds me so much about the days in Spring of 1992 back home in Bosnia listening to Serbian propaganda radio. It is a fine circus but I remain hopeful that this fraud and fake will be soon exposed.
