Canadian 'dopers, Freedom Convoy?

Great advice. Too bad that Pat King himself is currently in jail. Some of the organizers who were arrested have since been released on bail, but King’s bail hearing isn’t until Tuesday. Until then he can sit in his jail cell waving his white flag.

But but but…

He said the magic word “Parlay”, and under Dread Pirate Robert Rules, that means he goes Olly olly oxen free!

Pretty sure he can sue now.

Interesting…when watching the police actions on TV this morning I saw a couple of the idiots, I mean protesters, carrying white flags. I was wondering what that was about.

There is no guarantee that King will be granted bail. Tamara Lich had a bail hearing on Saturday, and the decision on granting bail was deferred, sending her back to jail:

The Crown is arguing against bail for Tamara Lich, saying she’s already proven she has no respect for the law and that her husband’s testimony shows they have rich friends and could fundraise more money.

Fun and games are over, and the new reality is criminal consequences for criminal behaviour. Which I’m sure comes as a surprise to many of these morons.

So much for the rumours that big tractor rigs can’t be towed, or that operators of big wreckers are refusing to cooperate … these pics are from the Ottawa protests:

(In the post above this, is that a Canadian Trump flag? Of course not.)

It’s likely a “Fuck Trudeau” flag

Some of them did want this.

Some wanted other things.

So just who exactly was Trudeau supposed to sit down with and have a reasonable discussion in order to solve this problem before putting the Emergencies act into place?

  • The dudes with “Fuck Trudeau” flags?
  • The people there who think the vaccine makes you magnetic and/or injects microchips into you?
  • The people who think the federal government can overturn provincial mandates?
  • The people who think the federal government can overturn USA mandates?
  • Tamara Lich, who runs a western separatist party and wants to split Canada?
  • Pat King, who thinks that if you wave a white flag, you can’t be arrested under international law?
  • The people who have posted that their goal is to remove Trudeau from power and have him arrested?
  • The people who put their children in the front lines of a protest when police are clearing an area?
  • The people in the protest who threw burning material in an apartment building lobby and taped the doors shut

Just which one/ones was Trudeau supposed to meet with in the past three weeks, and how exactly was he supposed to meet their varied demands?

The best part is, this kind of action is a specifically banned use of a white flag

The Ottawa Police service said 191 people have been arrested as of Sunday morning and 57 vehicles towed.

Kent Street and Bay Street are also now both “mostly clear of vehicles,” police said.

I really hope that IF these people get their vehicles back, it is very, very expensive for them.

Just to add to my list of people that Trudeau was supposed to sit down and have a nice conversation with:

  • The dudes with Canadian Trumper hat slogans on them?
  • Roman Diludo, the “queen of canada” who has posted on social media that people should murder nurses who give vaccines?
  • The people who say that Covid is not real, and is a hoax?
  • The people who have threatened provincial health officers?
  • Perhaps Trudeau should have nipped over to Alberta and met with the people who have been charged with conspiracy to murder police?
  • The Americans who were sending millions of dollars to the organizers?

Should Trudeau have walked into the crowd, and tried to have a logical conversation with people that hold multiple conspiracy theories, many of them in complete opposition to each other?

Or just with the “leaders”, whoever the leaders are at the moment?

$700 minimum, according to Reddit, assuming the mayor isn’t successful in his mission to auction off the impounds.

That was in reference to “cars and trucks”, presumably meaning light trucks. The heavy-duty wreckers such as shown in the above pictures, used to tow tractor trucks, are bound to be far more expensive. I’ve also read that, unlike a normal tow truck hooking up a car or light truck, it takes a long time to get a big truck set up for towing, which adds even more to the expense. Another happy thought: the truck owners almost certainly will not be insured for any damage that occurs.

I feel bad for their families and the financial impact that will follow if they’re not on board with this nonsense.

If they were towed, then they were willingly and voluntarily at this stupid and illegal protest, and moreover, refused to leave when given ample opportunity. I find it hard to feel bad for them. Maybe you can feel some sympathy if their trucks are seized and sold at auction, because insurance won’t cover that loss, either.

Oh agreed for the protesters. I was thinking if there’s someone sitting at home saying “What the hell is your dad/mom/stupid Uncle up to now?”

The same could be said of the families of any stupid criminal who is caught.

“We actually have the ability to confiscate those vehicles and sell them,” Watson told CBC on Saturday, adding the city has that power under the Emergencies Act invoked by the federal government.

“And I want to see them sold. I don’t want the return to these people who’ve been causing such frustration and angst in our community.”

Absolutely!

And listening to the financial woes of Tamara Lich just illustrates the stupidity and/or ignorance and sense of entitlement these people have.

When Candice Bergen was asking the liberals about reaching out and olive branches etc, I believe that Chrystia Freeland missed a really good opportunity to elucidate those of your list that were known at the time and she should have hammered the conservatives on those issues.
