Cancel Culture and Canceling versus consequences for actions

Wow, that is a disgusting group of individuals.

Two things to which I’ve made semi-frequent reference, and that these texts (being disclosed) bring to mind:

[There are YouTube videos about each. They’re as gripping and fascinating as they are disturbing and timely]

Who clearly can’t think up a good joke to save their lives. So they fall back on haw-haw-hawing about bigoted slurs and attempted “shock value” hyperbole.

I mean, it’s not such a surprise that they don’t mind bigotry, but it’s a bit of a surprise that they all seem convinced that saying bigoted things automatically means they’re just so witty and cool.

The right likes to call this “locker room talk”. The right also likes to hold themselves up as the party of Christian values.

I really think the only comments that will be deal breakers for Republicans are the criticisms of Trump.

I’m kind of amused by this story because it appears they are destroying their own reputations through their own petty infighting and the guy who deeply apologized while simultaneously suggesting the texts were doctored is just gold.

Humor is often transgressive, about saying things we aren’t supposed to say.

It’s just that the standard that these people want to transgress against is “bigotry is bad”.

Under the cover of the “well if you’re going to call us Nazis then we might as well act up like it” insane “logic”.
