In the enduring spirit of George Constanza, the folks over at AOL have out together a candy bar lineup (it is unclear if they did so in order to set up the mechanic with a short name…Kip, or Sal.)
Heath and Skor both rock. I love those things, but I can’t tell them apart from a cross-section. Some of them I’ve never heard of and several more I’ve never eaten.
I got 15/20–got both the Heath and Skor bars correct, I love those things… They didn’t have my current passion, which is Mint Three Musketeers. I suspect them of being at least 46% crack by weight.
You have a point there, the original bar is 60 gm in weight, 8 gm fat and 258 calories. The mint version is 35 gm, 5 gm fat and 150 calories. So yeah, it’s a smaller bar than the original but it tastes a whole lot better than the original one and is less filling overall. The mint stuff is what makes it–I love mint and dark chocolate but I hate the way most of the candies of this type are filled with a hypersweet flat mint tasting goo with no real character. York Patties make my teeth ache! So I like the buttery flavor of the Three Musketeers and the fact that it’s not so hyper sugary. 110 fewer calories makes it even more attractive! I guess the solution would be getting them as fun size–the bag weighs the same so it’s a better deal overall.
I missed 4 but they were ones where the choices were either 3 I never heard of and one I did and I knew it wasn’t that one, or a case of two that I knew to be pretty similar but hadn’t eaten any of to be sure which was which.
I’m not proud that I got 19 right. It would’ve been perfect if not for that damned 5th Avenue. Of course, no one has ever actually eaten, nay, even seen a 5th Avenue, so I can’t feel bad about getting a semi-fictitious candy bar wrong.
The “fizzy lifting” thing sounds like a reference to Willy Wonka.
Never heard of Bing, and looked it up. Must be a regional thing, like the earlier-mentioned Cherry Mash; I think the quiz was avoiding regionals. Interesting that there’s another Palmer Candy-- the one I’m familiar with mostly makes holiday candies (their logo has a smiling easter bunny).
Looks like I’ll have to find a way to order a couple Bings-- I love trying new candy.
