Yesterday I saw a commercial for the new Wazoo candy bar. I haven’t tried it yet, but it got me thinking: this candy bar has no chocolate in it. It’s two layers of fruity nougat covered in a fruity confectioners coating. Sounds delightful, but no chocolate??
Has there ever been a candy bar that contained no chocolate? There are lots of examples of candy with no chocolate, but none that I would consider a “candy bar”
Yeah, Payday is the biggie that came to mind first. I think Zagnut is choco-free as well.

Bit O’ Honey isn’t, strictly speaking, a candy bar but that’s the shelf you buy it off of.
Isn’t there a white chocolate version of Toblerone?
We had a Wazoo bar in our house…(it’s a short but boring story involving college nicknames)
It’s dreadful. Tastes like kool-aid powder stirred into Play-doh.
great for gag gifts, but not a refreshing, or delightful choco-free snack.

From my hometown of St. Stephen, New Brunswick, I present to you the Roman Nougat. It’s kind of nasty and way too sweet.
And yet, still… chocolate. 
Oh, and here I even linked to the Annabella site and didn’t even think of mentioning Abba Zaba!
But I did see that they make Big Hunk t-shirts. I’m getting one!
I loves me a Pearson’s salted nut roll, with its sweet, non-chocolate center.
But Zero’s my fave.
As a wee lass the only non-chocolate bar I ever bought was the Planter’s peanut bar it’s like nut-dense brittle in bar form.
Another great one! There’s also the similar Munch bar, which has a higher candy/peanut ratio. I prefer the Planters, myself.
Smoothies, the PB cup with a butterscotch shell. They’re outta sight!
There was a limited-edition Reese’s cup featuring peanut-butter-flavored coating over peanut butter, as well as the “white chocolate” variant. (Which then leads to: is a “cup” a candy bar?)
A number of Kit Kat variants, especially in Japan, feature no chocolate. Green tea/matcha, orange, and so on.
Winter Clark bars-- that Clark/Butterfinger-type filling, covered in “white fudge.”
Nasty stuff. Like the Reese’s above, another white chocolate variant.
Hershey’s Cookie’s ‘n’ Creme, Nestle White Crunch, and probably any number of white chocolate variants of normal bars…
White chocolate isn’t chocolate. It’s an abomination.
