My friends wireless abled laptop is not reaching the internet. The wireless connection shows that it is connected, but no internet is in reality connected. The modem seems to be working, all the lights are showing correct, the antenna is up as it should be. Her laptop is Samsung R540. Her ISP says that the problem is not theirs. So, I think that something is wrong with her computer, but cannot figure it out. Can anyone here help with this? Perhaps you need more information, but I cannot think of more.
See if you can get to the routers home page.
Try typing the address of the router in your browser’s address bar.
That address is typically 192.168.0.1, but not always - look it up in your Internet settings.
I will try that on Monday when she comes here. Hopefully, I will receive some answers here that will help me on Monday.

Well, we tried it here at my apartment and it will not work, even with cable from the modem. I tried everything that is listed in the documentation for fixing problems, but nothing would fix it. I believe it is a hardware problem, so she is going to take it to the Samsung store to see if they can fix it. Thanks anyway folks.
