Your daughter probably messed with the incoming or POP server name. In Netscape, click on “Edit” and select “Preferences”. In the left hand column, click on the triangle just beside “Mail and News” so that it lists the subcategories. Select “Mail Servers”.
If it doesn’t immediately list your incoming mail server, click on the edit button.
If the setting is right and you still can’t get your email, double check you account name (the first part of your email address - in my case “phouka”) and retype your password. If that still doesn’t do it, call your email provider’s tech support line and find out if there’s something up with the server.
You could also just reinstall the software that your internet service provider (ISP) gave you when you set up your internet account. This should reset all of your internet and mail settings.
This is sometimes easier that dealing with tech support.
