I also tried sending it mail from another email and it came back saying:

Wow, what a pain. I’ve seen several posts lately on GQ about this. I was having so much trouble with my hotmail–up one day, down the next, then down for 3 days straight!–I finally switched over to a free yahoo account out of desperation. It was annoying to move all my archived mail and notify everyone, but yahoo has provided good service so far and their interface is a lot friendlier. If you ask nicely there might even be someone willing to give you a free gmail account
Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. I think hotmail is just tanking and I’m glad I got away when I did. Good luck.
Like one or two other people, i’ve jsut found Hotmail to be too much of a disaster lately - indeed, on and off for a couple of months.
Can’t help you, therefore - I can can only sympathise, but I Do tend to think it is Hotmail messing up, not anything you or any “friends” have done.
If you do want a Gmail account, email me (address in profile) and I can send you an invite. Failing that, best of luck with blasted Hotmail, and, as has been noted, Yahoo seemwsw to work OK still.
ok well it’s been a week and it’s stuck at 61 email messages when I log into messenger. When I go to check the mail I get this url with the error page listed below…
but I can’t log in so I can’t delete the account… and if I log into the messenger I won’t ever start the 30 day inactivity? I sent an email to tech support but whatever eh… I think I should just dump the email address and get a new one then in a couple months go try the username again? I’m kind of waiting several days until maybe somebody from there gets back to me… It’s just a spam account but I liked the username… I’ve got another email place for personal messages so it’s not that big of a deal but I don’t know what the problem is… if somebody complained about something I wouldn’t be able to log in… it sounds like some sort of snafu.
try signing into my msn or chat or some other service. This may get you in through another access point.
I’ve used hotmail, yahoo, etc for years and everyone of them go through phases of being unable to access. Usually you can get in through another way such as secure logon, my msn,
It’s time you chucked Hotmail. Yahoo is sooo much better. More free storage space, I think it’s now going to 3Gigabytes, plus it ties so well to calendars, has better spam filters, and allows you to send pictures back and forth to relatives without a lot of hassle.
And it handles forwording of pictures and attachments correctly. With Hotmail, people always think they are forwarding something and I have to tell them to attach it manually and try again.
