Can't Seem to Find Good H264 Codec

I’m getting an error on WMP that says I need the Intel ITU H.264 (H264) codec, but when I google for this thing, I only seem to get broken, ol’ timey links, and the couple working ones I have found, when I download and run them, I get the MS-DOS box popping up for just a sec then nothing. When I restart WMP I still get the error message. Anyone know of a good link for the H264, and if there is some trick to installing it? Have to restart computer or something for it to take effect??? Thanks for any info.

Try ffdshow. It’s a Directshow video filter that can decode most (all?) MPEG4 video codecs, including H264.
