Capitalism thread disappeared?

That story is included The Science Fiction Hall of Fame which is a must-read for any SF fan.

Trivia note: the editor of that book, Robert Silverberg, has now outlived (by ten years) all twenty-seven of the authors whose stories were included.

I guess he wants all the royalties for himself. Can he account for his whereabouts on the 27 days those various authors died?

Which was, for the most part, snow.

Then someone had to adjust the rabbit ears.

Died? They are all hanging out with the crows and the stalks and the weevils.

Not much point. As mentioned, we didn’t have cable much in the 60s and 70s, but a lot of us were close enough to the border to catch a US station or two*. If you lived farther north, that was less of an option.

*We even had jokes about it, "How does every >Station name from Upstate New York< news broadcast start? ‘An Irondequoit man was found dead today…’ "

Either that, or “Topping tonight’s Eyewitness News—Fire in North Tonawanda!”

Even better with the emphasis as it was written in the story (as I recall):

“It’s good that you said that Darren_Garrison”
