Hello i was just wandering something…Is it illegal anywhere in the U.S to strip or remove a serial code from a head uniit/car cassette player/cd player…etc.An di f so what is the punishment?

AFAIK, no. It’s your stuff and you can do anything to it you want. I used to work in a pawn shop, though, and any item that was supposed to have a serial that came in without one was immediately rejected.
I believe many states have laws making it illegal to buy and sell such items. I do not think it would be illegal to own one per se but if you are under suspicion of having acquired it by illegal means this fact is not going to help you in court. You better have a good explanation.
I don’t know what you have in mind but it is probably a bad idea.
