I got a quote through Costco for car insurance. A company by the name of Ameriprise. The quote will save me $100 every six months. I’d love to save that much money on my car insurance. But I’ve never heard of Ameriprise.
Has anyone had any experience with this company through Costco? If so, what were your experiences?
Ameriprise is a legit company, as legit as a huge faceless multinational corporation can be. It is a spin-off of American Express.
In my experience Costco only partners with good companies. We switched our credit card processing to Costco’s partner Elavon and are saving lots of money compared to Bank of America. Costco wants their members happy so they will renew their membership.
I believe Costco wouldn’t partner with a BAD company. However, I’ve found that Costco Partners often aren’t the cheapest choice. Despite their warehouses having great prices, their partners often don’t. I have had garage door quotes and cabinet quotes that weren’t up to snuff. (Although the Costco Auto Buying Service is tough to beat.)
That said, my point is that you may want to check other insurance companies. I’ve got Geico and get great rates and great service. Also check Nationwide and Twentieth Century.
