Car Question: Cartridge-style oil filter replacement

On my new Hyundai, there’s a cartridge-style oil filter. It looks like the innards of a standard oil filter, i.e. just the paper/fiber thingy.

I assume it goes into something? Do I need special tools to open this “something?” Is it in the normal kinda oil filter location?

I assume this isn’t a difficult task, but is there anything I need to know or to look out for?

Yes, the oil filter housing.

Probably not. Give me the year, model, and engine size (liters) and I can look it up.

??? I’ve seen oil filters in many different places. There is no “normal” location. But again, I can look it up.

Cheers.

My #&%$^@ info system (which I pay good money for) doesn’t have an illustration or description of this. Typically it would be an aluminum (silvery) or black plastic cylinder with a hex at the end to use a wrench on.

Check out the illustrations here and here to get an idea of what it will look like.

Thanks Gary.
