Car remote "dead zone"?

For the last three years, I have been at an event at the Ohio State Fairgrounds, and every year, my car remote is very balky when I’m there. I push the lock or unlock buttons and nothing happens.

Is there something that might be installed in that kind of environment that would interfere with a remote?

If anyone is transmitting on the same frequency as your car fob, it could prevent the car from receiving a clear signal. Maybe there is a radio or something that is jamming your freq.

I wonder if it’s something as simple as that. Basically, you’ve got a bunch of artists all unloading and loading at pretty much the same time, with lots of car fobs clicking around vehicles parked in a confined area.
