Site that blocks car remotes

There’s a shopping complex near me (Home Depot, etc.) in whose parking lot car remotes usually don’t work. You have to actually use the key to lock/unlock your car doors. But occasionally they work. What could be the cause of this?

  1. It’s just you. Get a new battery for your remote.

  2. Observable, repeatable evidence of multiple cars, multiple times, in multiple locations in the lot would narrow it down some.

While super unlikely, there is a criminal technique that relies on jamming vehicle fob signals.

Sounds like there is a RF leak nearby. The FCC would be interested. Various Armed Forces radar systems have been known to play havoc with anything using the RF spectrum.

Obviously that’s not the only place I park. The remote works just fine everywhere else.
