Cardinal Law resigns

Wow, I am supprised that I am the first to post this.

It was reported on my local news (Channel 3 Las Vegas, NV) that Cardnial Law finally resigned.

I am not a Catholic but I am amazed that it took him this long to give up. The sex scandal, from what i have read, was badly mishandled by Law. I am not sure that he meant to cause any harm but it seems to me that he did.

Should he have quit before now? If so, when?

Did he knowingly hide the scandal? If not, how could he have dealt with the problem better?

Law should have resigned a year ago OR not for at least one more.
Who deserves to have to clean up his mess?
Who that is not blinded by ambition would even want to be Archbishop of Boston at this point?
And in my opinion, the cardinal defines blinded by ambition.
Oh, I’m a lapsed Catholic from and still living in the area of boston.
