Cardinal Law still supported by the church?

Here is the relevent section of canon law which provided for Law’s resignation:
Can. 401 §2 A diocesan Bishop who, because of illness or some other grave reason, has become unsuited for the fulfilment of his office, is earnestly requested to offer his resignation from office.

Can. 402 §1 A Bishop whose resignation from office has been accepted, acquires the title ‘emeritus’ of his diocese. If he so wishes, he may have a residence in the diocese unless, because of special circumstances in certain cases, the Apostolic See provides otherwise.

§2 The Episcopal Conference must ensure that suitable and worthy provision is made for the upkeep of a Bishop who has resigned, bearing in mind the primary obligation which falls on the diocese which he served.

So even with all the stuff that went down, the diocese still provides for him?

I haven’t heard otherwise. He is still a Cardinal…still a priest of the Boston Archdiocese…he is no longer the Archbishop of that diocese.

Right, he’s just stepping down as Archbishop, but he’s still a cardinal, so it’s not like he’s unemployed and on the streets.
