One of the legends of comedy. You can’t really expect to outlive the 2000 year old man, but he made a good run.

I read that he visited with Mel Brooks just about every evening. I didn’t know of him as a kid, but have loved Dick Van Dyke. I have learned more about him and sad he is gone.

Ahh damn. Loved him and his work. Like others I knew about his evenings with Mel Brooks. So sad that Mel has lost his friend as well. Poor Rob and the rest of the family.

Very sad. In addition to his own brilliant career, he had three accomplished children, including the actor and award-winning director Rob Reiner, who is also an outspoken liberal activist. Rob first came to wide public attention as the Michael Stivik character (“Meathead”) on All in the Family. How time flies – Rob himself is now 73.
