My reply to your delusional comments still stand. The thread you linked was the one I assumed you thought started off this imaginary grudge. King of Soup has said your name in one other thread since that one you linked from 2006 and that time he was basically just [post=8674954]defending lissener[/post] against all comers, hardly seeking out a grudge match with you.

To me, the funniest thing is that (I looked this up just to find out) you, Liberal, CarnalK, Hostile Dialect, Omegaman, and I have all exchanged harsh words with each other, both much more recently and much longer ago than the made-up feud Colibri probably would now wish he hadn’t resurrected, if only he were smarter. Here’s the recipe: avoid actions which require explanation, whether or not you are flexing moderator wings, practice humility, and realize, as some do not, that being a moderator is the result of authority conferred upon one from somewhere else, not a reflection of one’s own ability or quality. Beyond that, the requirement for moderators is that they be moderate, and that’s too much to hope for.

You can only interpret that as a threat if you assume that CarnalK is going to continue to break the rules. While that may be a very reasonable assumption on your part, if he adheres to the rules, and follows moderator instructions when they are given, he won’t have a problem.
Again, this is utter bullshit. Saying he was being “attacked on all sides” is simply and demonstrably false. CarnalK chose to hijack an unrelated thread with a complaint about moderation. There were a couple of exchanges between him, **hawthorne ** and Contrapuntal before I posted in that thread for the first time. That was the extent of the “attack from all sides,” which of course in any case originated due to CarnalK’s own remarks.
The remark you mention was not an “easy hit” but rather came at the end of my fourth post in that thread, after extended exchanges with CarnalK in which I explained to him what his rule violation was, and which he refused to acknowledge. Making it clear to him that I would enforce the rules strictly in his case was not in the least out of place in that context.

Actually I was letting it lie, since nothing you’ve said really merited dignifying with a response, but since you’ve chosen to bump this again and don’t seem inclined to give it a rest, I suppose I might as well.

And now that you’re pissed, your whim has shifted to assured enforcement.
You used that threat as a means — unavailable to ordinary members — to end the argument. It was your mod trump card, planted in a post that did not in any way identify it as a mod post. That’s the whole reason mods have said they use their mod hats (in whatever form): to distinguish posting as a mod from posting as a member.

The only thing I asked of you in that thread was that you put on your mod hat when posting as a mod — hardly an unreasonable request given nearly ten years of boardwide precedent going all the way back to the days of DavidB. I tend not to worry about the date and time of previous posts as long as a thread is current, knowing as I do that neither I nor any normal person scans the board constantly in real time. To type a post addressing Liberal a couple of days after his last post really didn’t seem out of bounds, even if I mentioned your name in it. Wait – this isn’t going to be one of those cases where you accuse people of posting behind your back, is it? I’d hate that.
In any event, when I said “let it lie,” I meant the two-year-old “grudge” you invented in order to pretend that a complaint about your behavior must necessarily be prompted by absolutely anything besides your behavior. I certainly did not suggest that your current behavior should be henceforth out of bounds as a topic of discussion widely and/or in depth. So I mentioned it again.
