Carnforth Civic Hall gets a new vacuum cleaner

According to the West Morland Gazette:

What do people think of this developing story? I notice they try to bury the news of estimates for new pointing work have been by releasing it at the same time as the vacuum cleaner story.

Lazy, lazy reporting, typical of the MSM. No word on whether the new vacuum is a Henry, a Dyson or whatever.

I bet it’s a Henry, those Dysons aren’t really designed for commercial/industrial cleaning.

It will be a Henry, most likely. But it could also be, potentially, a water-friendly Charles or George. We just don’t know. #hoovergate

I kinda feel there might be a link here to the Hilary e-mail scandal. I don’t know what the link is, but I’m pretty sure there is one.

I think it sucks.

Plenty more hot issues to get your teeth into here:

Ah, this site has a decent record of Ron and his “totally not me!” porn bill.

ahem Westmorland is one word, not two. It’s one of the two former counties that now make up Cumbria.

Personally, I think the cross-hatching deserves a little more attention, they skipped right over that for the fancy eye catching vacuum nonsense. I have family and friends in Carnforth, this is their safety at stake here!

My bet’s on a Henry, I shall try and get some insider follow up.

Are they not even going to consider Hetty? They had better watch out or they will be up in front of a sex discrimination tribunal.

Boy, Carnforth gets all the new shinny stuff.

So an entire county just disappeared?

Somebody better shake out the bag before they throw that old vacuum away.

It’s been gone since 1974, at least two or three vacuums ago.

Doesn’t stop the local group that keeps painting out “Cumbria” and replacing it with “Westmorland” on all the county entry and exit signs.

That does bring me to the dark secret though. I think, maybe I live far enough away now to share this. It’s time.

If I should disappear, know I gave my life to spread this light we call knowledge to the world.

Carnforth is in Lancashire, it was never in the historic county of Westmorland! The Westmorland Gazette is spilling their secrets to the world, but they have no right to do so! They hide terrible news of lost sheep, and even the great scandals of Kendal itself behind these distracting tales of Carnforth vacuums! What do they truly have to hide?!!!?1?

What is a “rubbing-down” and why is it taking place in a kids’ playground?!!

None of you have lived in a small town, have you? This kind of stuff is on every Town Council meeting agenda. Sometimes ridiculously trivial things that are spelled out in the town charter have to be dealt with at the most formal level.

What’s even funnier is that that stuff is actually on the agenda and has to be voted on by the council.

Ah, “parish pump” politics

Tombola rows do tend to escalate pretty quickly.
