Cars driving in formation?

Excuse me for butting in, but danceswithcats was making a joke about Philly traffic.

Or did I just get whooshed in some way?

You’re probably right about some of the shots, but there are others where they’re obviously not cheating and still doing a hell of a job. And it’s on the topic of the thread, so I had to share it.

I watched it a couple times before I noticed that when they’re driving in the subway station, they’re using their turn signals.

I noticed the indicators too.

Fakery starts to creep in, I think, when the blue cars arrive on the scene.

“Little Choshy” is the local name for North Conshohocken, a first-ring suburb of Philly. It is not to be confused with Conshohocken on the other side of the bridge. Little Choshy is noted is notable for having a bowling alley lane in the attic of its police department, and really nice Masonic Lodge and a disused tire factory.

Traffic did not improve when the Blue Route was opened.

I’ve heard Conshocken referred to as “Conshy,” but “Choshy” was new to me. Thanks.

I am sure you are right. At this range all spellings of Philadelphia neighborhoods are very, very approximate.

Still, are either DanceswithCats or Twixter in Chosy? Coshy? Whatever.

Another vote for “Conshy.” I used to have a job there & never heard “Choshy.” Incidentally a lot of traffic reports make referemce to backups around the “Conshohocken Curve” which is simply a bend in a highway people know when they see it… I think that’s the origin of these references to traffic…

Two jokes since we’re so far off topic anyway:

“Conshohocken” is an old Lenape word for “place where the highways meet.”

And…

There’s a strip club in town that I’ve popularly heard referred to as “The Conshohocken Ballet.”

Wonder what all this is going to do to the ads below…

I live in East Falls (a couple of exits up the Schuylkill); Dances lives out Harrisburgish, but grew up in the Philly area and is here regularly. ScubaBen used to live in Conshy but just moved back to D.C.
