Hi, I recently bought a case, it’s the kind you see at the store with those goofy lights on each side. I’m trying to figure out how to get the lights to actually turn on, I know it has something to do with the pin connectors being configured correctly however nothing came with my motherboard denoting which pin the lights connect to. The paper that came with the case is rather vague and the pin setup depicted in the pictures is not even accurate to my motherboard. If anyone has any experience with this or could tell me where to look to figure this out I would appreciate it very much. The case is a MAXTOP Model# CSX-7788KEB and the motherboard is an ASUS P4SDX. Thanks for any help!
I’m not a computer whiz-bang by any means, but I’ve installed motherboards (and got the LEDs working) and I think you’re going to need to get that info from ASUS. Here’s their homepage.
Another possible source would be Hardware Central. Ask on their discussion board.
When I cut a hole in the side of my case and put in a plexiglass window and LEDs I just wired them all up (in parallel) and stuck the wires into one of the 12V power connectors. Chances are that would work fine (but I can’t say for sure since I haven’t actually seen your case.)
I may have misunderstood you; I thought you were talking aboout the LEDs that tell you your HDDs are working. If it’s something decorative, Joey P’s answer is probably more applicable.
If you look at this image, the blue-white wires you see connected to that 5 1/2" drive power jumper are the ones that power the case lights. One of the 5 1/4" drive power connectors from the power supply to it, and you’re set. The other end can be plugged into a drive to power it.
Yeah that worked Q.E.D. thanks for the help everyone.
