The upper hinge on our weathershield casement window has broken. It is quite frightenting, the windo looks like it is about to fall out. Anyway, I went to weathershield and tried to look it up, http://www.vayanet.net/docs/ReplPartsCat/WS_Csmt_wood_ReplPts.pdf seems to be the right place. It is not an operator, but the hinge only has one arm. What are the names of the different hinge parts? Where else might I go to find the correct part.
Are you looking for something other then the part labeled “top hinge”? If you’re looking to get one specific part, I doubt that’s going to happen, you’ll probably have to get the entire assembly.
As for where else to get one. See if they have a distributor in your area. They might have parts, but I’m guessing everyone is going to be closed until Tuesday. You might try Home Depot/Lowes or one of the older Mom and Pop style True Values.
No, I need the entire assembly as the arm is broken. However, that is not the part that is attached to my window, that has two arms and mine has one.
Try this catalog.
That would be “2006 – Weather Shield – 6204/8204 Casement Catalog – 1202614” from here.
I have twenty year old weathershield windows. One hinge on one casement window is broken. I cannot find it only, yet. Is it likely made by Truth. That would make searching easier.
I made a suggestion in the other thread…
But since we’re starting over, are there any model numbers on the window, the broken hinge or any part of the window assembly?
Could you take a picture of the top hinge from one of the other windows so we can see what it should look like?
In the mean time, does anything here look like it might work?
Tomorrow I will search for model numbers and take a photo. Nothing on that page seems to be it, The few things with one arm are not it.
dauerbach.
I’ve combined your two threads. There was no need to start a second one.
This thread may seem weird, having combined the two threads. Sorry…
