I have my 91 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue. The weatherstripping on the doors is pretty crappy, so bad that it is scratching the windows.
I’ll describe the weatherstripping further: It is the part on the exterior of the door that touches the window at the bottom, the part that keeps the rain from getting inside of the door itself. When you have the window down, and your arm is outside the window, hanging, it is the part that will touch your tricep/bicep.
I have been looking online for replacements for this, and it is hell. First, I don’t know what it is called. Second, I don’t think that anybody knows what it is called, because wherever I look, it seems to be called different things, and weatherstripping seems different from window seals, moldings, etc…
I checked out JC Whitney, and found this http://www.jcwhitney.com/precision-parts-oe-replacement-glass-weatherstrip-seal/p3039135.jcwx?filterid=d367y1991g451j1 .
I wasn’t sure what was meant by the note that said “Per set of three” since the middle picture on the left was at least 5 pieces. I got on a chat with their Customer Service person, and ol’ Simon just repeated what the pages said, and referred me to a mechanic!
So, can anybody tell me where to find a replacement for the weatherstripping(?) that I need, or is the above link a link to what I need?
Thanks,
hh
