Casey Anthony

Another thread got me thinking about that piece of garbage Casey Anthony. This is something I’ve been wondering for awhile. How invovled do you think her parents were? I have my own opinions, but will wait to see others before stating mine.

Involved in what? Her life? Her daughter’s life? The murder? Bowling? Church outings? Football?

C’mon. Be nice. Don’t feign ignorance just 'cause it’s a November 2012 join date.

well it appears to me they lied to protect their daughter at the price of justice for their granddaughter

I don’t know to what degree they were actually involved in the murder, but I think it’s safe to say that entire dynamic was… dysfunctional.

My money says they knew nothing of the murder, and believed in her innocence all the way.

My memory is a bit hazy on some of the details but here goes.

Casey’s parents adored their granddaughter Caylee and so did Casey. Casey however was much too involved in the party scene and if she had to pick one over the other, no question Casey chose partying over being a mother to her child.

Casey was/is a compulsive if not pathological liar. Her parents, particularly her mother Cindy, enabled this pattern of behavior her entire life. Casey lied about graduating from high school, maintaining a job at Universal Studios and stole repeatedly from everyone she knew, family and friends alike. Cindy’s response was always, “Casey you can’t keep doing this,” and then she would bail her out again and again.

Once it was confirmed that Caylee was dead, the parents took the tired stance that nothing they could do would bring their grand-daughter back and there was no point in losing their child (to prison) so they did everything to support Casey before, during and after her trial. I’m sure they continue to do the same today.

Lastly as to my personal, completely unsubstantiated theory on the whole mess is that Casey did not murder her daughter. I think Caylee either drowned accidentally in the family pool or maybe Casey left Caylee in her car seat, forgot about her and discovered her dead hours later. Once that happened, she panicked, placed the body in the trunk of the car and went on the lam to try and devise some way out. She couldn’t and resumed her partying ways, lied to her mother and everyone else for the ensuing month and then the rest fell into place as stated in the public record.

I think Casey intentionally murdered her daughter (her google searches were pretty suspicious) and neither parent was involved in the murder or subsequent disposal of the body.

I think her father knew she was guilty but mom was in deep denial…but knew on some level that she did it (listen to the early 911 calls–both parents seem to be accusing Casey of killing the baby).

I also think Casey is a narcissistic sociopath and pathological liar and her parents stood by her after the fact because they didn’t want to see her go to prison.

Yeah, and didn’t she practice using some kind of drug on her dog? There was too much for me to believe Caylee’s death was an accident.

I’ve always felt the father help dispose of the body and the mother wasn’t on it, but I never did hear the 911 call.

I always thought the grandmother was the one who killed the girl. She was the one that contacted the police initially and her demeanor always struck me as someone desperately trying to draw suspicion away from herself.

I don’t know what to think of Casey Anthony. Not the word’s best mother, sure. But I remember the trial coverage, and I remember thinking that the state just hadn’t met their burden of proving that a murder took place at all, let alone that she did it.

So I try not to have an opinion on Casey. I remind myself that I really have no idea what happened.

Wasn’t Caylee’s body found with duct tape on the skull?

If there was no murder, what possible rational explanation could there be for that?

I think it was an accident.

But, because they waited too long to call anyone, the accidental became more suspicious.

Casey is a pathological Liar.

She should have been held accountable for Child Negligence and Purgery.

Maybe serve 18 months of a 3-5 year suspended term.

This case was FUBAR from the beginning.
