I would like to buy some Atlantic City casino chips as a gift for a friend. I’m not looking for collectable chips. I am looking for chips that she can use to gamble with on her next trip. Can I buy these anywhere? All I’ve been able to find online is $1 collectable chips for $2.50 and up. I want to pay face value plus a little convenience charge. Is it true that all AC hotels accept chips from the other hotels?

I work at an AC casino, and I can tell you, the only place you can buy, gamble, and redeem a certain casino’s chips is on the casino floor of that particular casino. You can’t pay for a meal or rent a room with leftover chips, nor can you use your chips at another casino
Thanks. I thought I had read somewhere that the casinos would take each others chips. What was in it for them? I don’t know. That’s why I asked. I sounded strange. Do you know if I can buy currently used casino chips anywhere?

Have you tried contacting any casinos? I’ve never been to one that seemed to care if you walked away with some of their chips uncashed. As long as they’re getting your money, I’d imagine they’d be more than happy to sell you some chips. If you live near there, just walk in, buy your chips, and leave. If you don’t, try contacting them; they may be more than happy to ship them to you at your cost (I’ve never tried this before, so I can’t be certain).
many of the larger casinos in las vegas will accept other casino’s chips in small denominations ($100 or less).
There are chip exchange services which do the legwork of redeeming the chips for the casinos
