Casting Emil Ratajkowski

So I was surfing around the internet and I found a video of Emily Ratajkowski in her underwear. Which I naturally watched.

But now I have a serious question. If you watch the video (here - semi-NSFW) and stay through the credits you’ll see a bunch of expected credits: hair, make-up, lighting director, etc. But you’ll also see two people given a credit for casting.

What exactly did a casting person do in this video? This was a promo video for Emily Ratajkowski’s appearance in a magazine. Obviously they were going to give the lead role to Emily Ratajkowski. And there’s literally nobody else in the video. So who did they have to cast?

My WAG would be that they do casting in general for that production company and yes, they only had to get her for this specific video but they’ve cast other people for other videos.

Could be a casting team or agency. Could be a vanity credit, like “executive producer” for a Hollywood star’s agent.

Emily is eminently castable. But who’s Emil?

I watched the video 3 times so far and each time I forgot what I was looking for. Let me try again…

Would "casting be involved in selecting the music? I didn’t see a music credit.

My theory is that Ratajkowski used up too much of my brain’s spelling ability and I didn’t have enough left for her first name.

It’s “I Got Mine” by the Black Keys.

Am I the only who thinks Emily looks like a Middle Eastern man in drag?

I’ll admit I don’t see the resemblance.

I think she sort of looks like Anne Hathaway. But I don’t see any resemblance between Anne Hathaway and a Middle Eastern man in drag either.

LMAO!! I do concede that since you mentioned it, there is something that reminds her of Hathaway. Though objectively they don’t really look alike.

sometimes union rules require people to be hired so that could be the case here

The sacrifices I make for you people.

It was becoming clear more research was needed. So I went to Vimeo and sought out some other promotional videos released by Love magazine during this same period. I watched three of them and found they all contained a casting credit at the end - and they were all credited to the same people.

So it does appear these two people have somehow managed to get themselves a general casting credit for all the company’s videos regardless of whether any actual casting is needed.

If you think that video in any way resembles a man, get yourself to the optometrist pronto. And please leave the driving to someone else.

I bet you think she has pointy knees too.
