Castle of Muskogee

What is the story behind the Castle of Muskogee http://www.thecastle.org/index.html ? Was this built from the ruins of a real medieval castle brought over to Oklahoma for a home by some 1920’s oil baron or was it strictly made for a tourist attraction? If it was built from the ruins of a real castle then where is this castle from, what was it’s name, and what is it’s real history?

It is strictly a tourist attraction thing. This is easily verified just by looking at the interior pictures, but I have been in thing (SCA group in Stillwater used it for an event) and the pictures flatter it.

Improvements have been made on it since I was there but it still looks best from the outside. At a distance.
