On the last point, you might wanna watch that. The little kid could be amassing a secret cat army as we type.

Cutest. Army. Ever.

Here is our Baby “Dew” when we got her back in Aug of 07. Some of our neighbors thought she was ours and it was raining out (aww poor baby) so Bobotheoptimist (who didn’t renew membership on here) brought her in and came down to the office to show us her and we squeed like crazy and decided she needed us as her owners. Our other cat Snickers (can’t find a pic right now) hates her but our dog Kiara loves her and Dew loves her back. She is a fun spunky cat and is here to stay.
I r a proud Mummeh and had to share all pics

Mackerel tabby coloration is actually the ancestral condition and the piebald gene is both dominant and frequently expresses in that sort of bib pattern. So it’s not so unusual to get that kind of match. Ollie ( aka Oliver Cromwell, Lord Protector of the Commonwealth ) has a couple of “twins” on the SDMB for similar reasons.
Er…and sorry if you already knew all that and were just making a fun comment. Kneejerk pedantry is a curse ;).

That sucks. Too bad spike strips probably aren’t all that legal for you.
That sounds pretty darn cool. Was it expensive/time consuming to construct?
[/QUOTE]
Yepper, I’m fairly sure personal spike strips would be frowned upon since it’s a state road.
The Cage.
I don’t recall the expense, not terribly bad. It’s about 6 x 6.5h x 30, with 2 x 4 framing, 1 inch (?) holed heavy wire. A hand built door on the back side. Kitty doors in the well house window and door. Partially covered roof with metal siding sheets. Shale for flooring. Won’t be doing that for the next one, and may go back and pour concrete in this one.
Time consuming, Yes.
Injury causing, Yes.
Learned from our mistakes, will be easier next time.
Sounds like a very cool idea. I might have to try that at some point. Sure not sure where in Texas I’ll be moving to, but the right locations have enough land and a decent enough climate that I could let the cats outside in an enclosure like that.
