Cat on a Keyboard-A nonhijacked MMP

With everything else going on, you seem to have gotten overlooked. Sorry to hear that your car was broken in to. Good that nothing too important got stolen though. Hope it all works out with the insurance folks.

{{{**kai ** and neighbors}}}

::waves at mika:: How’s it going?

Love the proposal drama LiLi. Please keep us updated. Sorry to hear about the SIL and nephew.

Great prom pic Drae! Sorry to hear about the layoff though.

Happy birthday to ACBG!!

Work’s gotten busy again! Aaaaah! Gotta run.

Wow, this is one overwhelming MMP! Rather than echo everyone, let me just, um, echo everyone and add my hugs and good thoughts to the mix.

Today started soggy, but it’s sunny right now, if brisk. We’re going to get a taste of winter for a couple of days, then the temps scoot right back up. I went to the post office and mailed some sugar cookies that my mom made to my daughter - she’ll like that surprise.

Gotta figger out what to make for dinner - the only thing I decided on for sure is sugar snap peas. Maybe meatloaf? Dunno yet.

Guess that’s all for now. More hugs, welcomes, and one whipping towel snap at the bear for a certain comment I did *not * miss. :stuck_out_tongue:

And so another Monday slogs on…

The GF and I saw the promos for that show (Eric Estrada is going to cop school? Why didn’t he do something like that back in the days of C.H.I.Ps?) and she said, “You were right. TV can always get worse.”

I replied that the next level down will be Celebrity Dumps, where these B- and C-list folks will go into a bathroom with a ruler and measure the size of their turds. And broadcast the results.

I <snerk> smell <snerk> an Emmy in the making. Sean you must pitch this idea before somebody else does. I mean, TLC, A&E, and some of those other cable channel types need the ratings. You’ll be a bazillionaire!

FCM meatloaf is a particular favorite so I vote for meatloaf. What? You mean you weren’t asking for suggestions? :stuck_out_tongue:

Tigs as long as it isn’t braised Moose Nose in deer snot. That’s just sooooo last year’s cuisine.

ACBG will be here around fiveish. The birthday supper fixin’ and etc will commence then. I may not be back. Hot tubbing and err… etc may ensue.

I vote for meatloaf, too! That’s what we’re having, with buttered parsley potatoes and green beans.

{{Kai and neighbors}} Words fail me.

I was gonna whine a bit, but I think I’ll just count my blessings instead.

Hey guys, I’m home! Took Maggie for a walk, ran into two of the neighbors cats outside, the black cat and the Siamese. Work was slow today, packed away the last of the Christmas. Only 6 more months till we put it back out.

Nava, I get dizzy some days, too. My doctor calls it a “virus”, and gives me Dramimine(side effect: dizzyness. :dubious: )

LiLi, Lucy? Lucretia was just sitting like that when I go up this morning, so I put the mouse in front of her and took the pic.
At least QD has clean underwear.

BooFae, LiLi and QD will share, which makes them co-wives/quasi-sisters/, umm, I she why she is freaking out.

HEY MEEKS!!! :waves franticly:

Spats, it’s a pun of The Song of the Volga Boat Men. Sheesh, kids these days.

Happy Bir[color=green]thday ACBG!!
…[/color]…*

Nice pair of eyes. Drae. Sorry about the job.

Have a fun road trip, palebunny and Tony’s mom!!!

kai, I am glad Dave and family are OK, and you are, too.

Rebo, feel free to vent.

Sean, [Guinness ad]Brilliant![/GA]

I think we’re having stuffed peppers for dinner. I like to stuff them with sausage instead of ground meat. They are tres yum.

Meatloaf it is - in the oven baking away. And 3 more 1-lb packages of ground beef in the freezer. Plus we’ll have the sugar snap peas and a vegetable to be named later - maybe carrots?

After dinner, I have 2 pots to trim and glaze. Hope I can stay awake long enough… <yawn> It’s been a long week so far.

Happy MMP all! Hugs, thoughts and prayers go out to all needing them, esp. Kaiwik’s neighbors. And Happy Birthday to ACBG!!

Mmmm… Swampy, wish I was there to share your good cookin’!! I’m going to put some chicken white chili in the crock pot tonight and let it cook overnight so we’ll have it for dinner tomorrow. Last night, we had pork loin roast and it was delicious. Ye gods, though, I need to start eating more veggies, fruits and whole grains. My system is on overload from too much “good” food. LOL

FCM is right - we’re gonna get a few days of “seasonable” weather, which will feel chilly since we’ve become spoiled by the really mild temps so far this winter. I got cold coming home today–with a jacket instead of my winter coat; the wind has picked up too, making it seem colder than it actually is. Oh well, like FCM said, the milder temps will be back by this weekend. Odd weather indeed!

My weekend was fairly relaxing - I’ve been fighting a cold so didn’t do very much except go to the grocery store yesterday morning. My Dad is doing much better; his eye is hurting less, although he’s still putting drops in. Now he’s talking about taking a Baltic cruise this spring! The main objective is to go to St. Petersburg and see the Hermitage Museum. I wanna go too!

Anyways, that’s things here in Spiceland; hope everyone stays warm and well. Love ya all!!

Hi, **doggy **and taxi!

waves back

Kai, hugs to you and your neighbors.

I miss my mom’s stuffed peppers. She moved to Arizona, now the only time I get them is when she comes to visit, or we go visit her and I lock her in the kitchen.

I need a good recipe to motivate me to make my own.

Hi mika! ::waving like a fool::

Miscellaneous stuff:

Hi 'mika! Come back and chat!

Breakfast supper is et and was, IMHO, tres yum! Ok, ACBG pronounced it tres yum, too. So there! :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of ACBG, he says thanks for all the birthday wishes. I even let him read 'em. He also said to tell y’all he didn’t make me cook nekkid but promises that I will be before the night’s over. :o The things he says!

Ok, I’m outta here. Hot tubbage is to happen shortly and errrr… etc. It’s a spend the night night here at the swampcave.

Later Y’all!

Well, duh!!!

I just trimmed my last two untrimmed pots and put the first coat of glaze on them. In a couple more days, I’ll do all my second coats of glaze, and this weekend, I’ll do a glaze firing.

But for now, I can chill… aaaaaahh

Damn, kai. That just sucks. Between the domestic violence and the house fires it’s a wonder anyone can survive out there.

No thank you. Television going down the tubes figuratively is quite enough for me. I don’t need it doing so literally. And Erik Estrada as an actual cop would never work. Anyone he pulled over would think it was some lame-ass publicity stunt – until he tried to arrest them for obstruction. Then they would think he’d gone batshit crazy.
… I take it back. I want to watch this.
:: waves to Mika :: (What? All the cool kids are doing it.)

Well, I’m home, and great googly moogly is it getting cold out there! It’s even snowing, albeit mildly, but it’s also relatively windy, especially around my apartment. The configuration of my apartment complex – four buildings, staggered two by two – creates a wind tunnel effect when you approach them from the side. It’s quite unpleasant on those face-rippingly cold and windy days.

On the geeky end of things, Norton Antivirus broke the camel’s back this morning. All of my system resources were used (a 1.7gb memory usage and 1.8gb swap are an unpleasant thing to wake up to) and rebooting thoroughly failed, even in safe mode. I had to reboot into the last known good configuration before it would work, and doing so disabled Norton. Then it did the same thing while I was at work and MindWife called in a panic. I talked her through the same thing and it worked once again. So I just told Norton to piss off. On a good note, her brother works for a large and well known oil company and their parent company’s intranet offers a free download of McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8 with a perpetual license, which is available to any employee or their family. So, us technically being family, we installed it. Now we have McAfee with a license that never expires. Sweet! As an added bonus my system now runs quite a bit smoother, and my PocketPC can sync again! (I didn’t realize it but Norton was playing silly buggers with ActiveSync ever since I upgraded the PDA to Windows Mobile 5.)

Yay!

In no particular order:

Welcome back 'mika, shibbikins, palebunny
{{{{{{kai and kai-friends}}}}}}
wow, pushkin, I’m sorry to hear about your car, but welcome to the MMP. Welcome to you, Freud, too.

Drae - you and your [del]cohorts[/del] friends all look so festive. But bummer about being laid off. Wanna come work with me?

Jahdra - pretty year, but I like the Mardi Gras color the best

Happy Birthday ACBG!

cat-puter pic as promised: I did tell her it was a mouse

Hi Mindfield!

Chat? :looks blank: Nobody told me that would be a requirement for this here MMP thingy. :gives deer-caught-in-headlights look:

Well, I did indeed get an iPod for Christmas. Actually I got it a few days before but wasn’t allowed to open it until the day. After two weeks or so of diligently loading music I have managed to fill…771 Megs. Out of of 27.4 gigs. This could take a while.
However now I know what to ask for everytime someone gives me a gift - CDs! But I do have all my Indian music - the good stuff anyway - on it. Thing is, I just don’t have that much Indian music in the right format. I have over 300 tapes - well, I did. They are over 10 years now and are starting to die out. I am buying CDs, sometimes, and checking iTunes like mad but they just haven’t caught up. They have some music but it’s hard to search and hard to narrow down what’s good and not. And it makes it triply hard that Hindi is a phonetic language and six people have seven different ways of spelling something so simple as Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, for example.

That’s easy for you to say…

Wow…when I started reading, I was thinking today was Tuesday (don’t ask), but all the events of the day really got me focused and put my life in real clear perspective:

{{{{{{{{{{kai’s neighbors, kai, kaifamily}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Happy Birthday, ACBG!!!

Congrats to QD and DH!!!
Hugs to Puggy and Drae and anyone else I missed.

Oh…and a little note to QuasiDaughter: say yes already!!! Suggested method: finally sign up for that guest membership and respond via the MMP. I’m pretty sure that several MMPers would be more than happy to finance memberships for both you and DH so that you could join us regularly. And hey, you don’t even have to worry about user names because LiLi has already thought them up for you. But, really, it’s nice to hear that such cool people have found each other and are on their way to making it official.

Hope palebunny and Mama T are having a safe trip back to Merrylande.

Hi, Mika - nice to see you stop by. (We were starting to think you didn’t love us any more. :frowning:  )

That dress is really sharp, Drae! And roomie looks very cool too…wouldn’t have known it was a lighter if you hadn’t mentioned it, BTW. Looks like everyone had a great time. Hope the job hunt is short and incredibly successful.

Sorry about SIL/BIL/nephew, LiLi. I always feel sorry for kids in this situation because they’re the ones who can’t help being stuck there. Hope you can spend more time with the nephew and give him a good example of family. I remember your frustration with SIL’s family at the wedding; too bad BIL and SIL can’t move closer to you.

I’m listening to the football game (my TV doesn’t get Fox) for the moment and about to start getting some stuff done.

Hope everyone’s week starts taking a turn for the better.

Back after a while…

GT

Hi Mika!

I love my iPod. I ripped all of my CDs long before I got one though (so we could listen to them on the computer) so copying them over to the iPod was pretty easy when I finally got one. I haven’t bought any new CDs though – not the physical variety anyway. Instead I’ve subscribed to eMusic (mainly 'cos they had a few rather obscure albums no one else seemed to have) so my musical needs, and it’s been great so far. I think I might want to switch/subscribe to something else eventually though for a few of the more mainstream artists I can’t get on eMusic. At any rate though it’s easier (and in many cases cheaper) than buying the physical CDs, and this appeals to my lazy nature.
