My calico cat ( which has been “fixed” by the way) was rape by a neighbor cat. This big yellow tabby has been hangin around our house for weeks. Well yesterday my calico cat “miss kitty” slinked into the house with tail down and in extreme pain. She has been under the bed since moaning in pain and coming out only to eat a little and drink.
I know it was cat rape because she has no broken bones (I felt her all over and she can walk). She won’t let me lift or touch her tail however which she always kept straight up. She ain’t a happy cat and hasn’t been for 3 days. The sparkle has gone out of her eyes.
Grrrr The only thing keeping me from getting out the 4-10 single barrel on that big ass fat yellow cat is that it might have been consenusal sex. Maybe I am being naive but I can’t imagine anything that debilitating and painful being consensual. I hope she gets back to normal soon and isn’t mentally harmed for the rest of her life.
Well, I wanted to find a cite for this, but a cat’s penis does have spines/barbs on it as same as the tongue of a cat. Therefore, intercourse is actually ‘painful’ esp. since a queen will mate with MANY males if possible. Apparantly the pain makes the female more sexually excited, and she will engage in coitus for as long as the males will hang around (someone correct me if I’m wrong, I’m going by memory here and googling for ‘cat sex’ is not a good idea at work - yes, I can surf the boards here at work when I’m not on a call. Bite me!)
aha, I think maybe you should at least talk to a vet about your cat’s behaviour. If she was ‘chewed on’ she could have an abcess under the skin that could be very painful (it would be a swollen area) and would explain why she is still so upset though it has been several days.
Maybe I’m being whooshed here, but in case you aren’t kidding, I can tell you that no tomcat would climb aboard your little darling if she wasn’t in heat, so I think you can forget the possibility of rape. Sex in the animal kingdom just doesn’t work that way.
(Yes, there’s dominance-motivated mounting behavior but that tends to be male-on-male and usually doesn’t progress to actual penetration - and I don’t think cats engage in it anyway, it’s more of a monkey thing.)
I too hope this is some kind of joke but in case not, take your cat to the vet TODAY. If she’s been moaning in pain for 3 days now, it wasn’t any kind of kitty sex. Someone may have hit or kicked her, or she was hit by a car or attacked by another animal. You need to bring her to the doctor. What would make you think that sex between two cats would cause the female to be in such pain for 3 days? Please, bring her to the vet.
This may be TMI for some of you, but one of my friends told me how she was walking out of her apartment one day and the neighbor’s dog had a cat pinned to the ground and was… umm… yeah… so, that’s about as close to rape as I’ve ever heard in the animal kingdom. My friend said the cat did not look like it was having fun, so I doubt it was “consensual”. Before that I had always wondered what dogs did to the cats they caught. Oh, and my friend was so shocked all she could do was stand there and shriek “BAD PUPPY!! BAD BAADD PUPPY!!”

Hmmm… perhaps aha protests too much? I’m not throwing around any accusations, but…
But for those of you who think I may be cruel by not taking my kitty to the vet I just wanted you to know that she goes at 2:30 today. My vet has been out of town. ( this is a small town) He will get to the bottom of this. ( no pun intended)
Good news rocking chair. It seems that the great yellow tabby bit right through the base of my lil’ calico cat’s tail. NO rape involved that I know about.
She has to have antibiotics for a few days but should be just fine!!! I am still not sure I can say the same for the yellow tabby if I see him again.
