Medical question for animal docs.

My cat, for the past few days, has been running around the house meowing and other noises.

It’s well fed and it’s litter box is constantly maintained so I don’t think that is the porblem.

It greated me at the door today meowing and rubbing my leg, but when it walks around the house, it walks low to the floor. I checked the cat and he doesn’t seem to show any discomfort when I ‘probed and prodded’ it, so I don’t think she is an any pain. (She is sitting here next to me giving me that ‘play with me’ look.

In fact, she seems ‘extreamly’ content and seems to want a massive amount of attention.

Any one have any ideas as to what the problem is? Could she be in heat? (She is an in door cat so I know she isn’t pregnant.)

Please, any help would be great!

Thanks all.

It sounds to me like she’s in heat.

Does she carry her tail high?

Um…not really…but I did see here crouched on the floor with here tail moved out of the way in a way that exposes her ‘bits’.

This is what got me thinking she as in heat.

She’s sitting here as she always does, happy as…well…a cat…but just won’t stop the noises. (It’s not a painful noice…it’s the same noices cats make when you first touch them while petting.)

I knew when I posted that “carry” was the wrong word.

If she’s crouching and moving kinda lying her tail along her back (I really don’t know how to explain it), she probably in heat. The noise she’s making is called caterwauling. She’s announcing to the world that she’s ready to mate. It can be godawful too.

I suggest you have her spayed, but for now, you’ll just have to suffer.

Thanks dude.

I talked to a buddy of mine who is a vet and he says the symptoms of a cat being in heat and a cat with a urinary infection are similar, but since she doesn’t seem to be in any pain, she is probably just in heat…

I’ll get her to the vet.

Thanks again =)
