Foghorn Leghorn was based on the character Senator Claghorn from the radio show Allen’s Alley. The two catchphrases, “That’s a joke, son!” and “Pay attention now, boy!” originated with Senator Claghorn.
While you are correct, I would guess that in both cases more people know the quotes because of the later sources.
I’m with you, Werekoala. Your quote is one of the memorable lines from RoboCop. Screw Mr. Kornbluth, whoever the hell he is. I guess someone could have pilfered that line from him, but that line is delivered in RoboCop in a very memorable way.
Schleprock - This was mentioned already, but someone mentioned he was Jewish? Never hear that one. And his catchphrase was actually “wowzy, wowzy woo woo”

I say this to my daughter whenever she says something i don’t understand. She’s 3, and she giggles every time i say it. (She also looks at me like I’m crazy)
This is so wrong its not even close. Im fascinated that there is such confusion over this one line. As someone else explained, its from a game show that is on TV in the movie RoboCop. Dawson NEVER uses that phrase in the movie Running Man.

ugh… No… Try “ROBOCOP”. It’s one of the most memorable and unmistakeable phrases in the film…
between the guy butting in with “um, you mean 'Ill by that for a quarter” to the guy saying it’s from Running Man… I’m not so sure I want to even BE in this lame forum. Gah.
Of course. However, if i remember correctly, they dont say “Badges? We dont need no stinking badges!” in that movie. Which is why i made sure i quoted it from Blazing Saddles. I’m pretty sure its in 3 Amigos also, but the 3 amigos say the line exactly as its said in The Treasure of The Sierra Madre. 3 Amigos was made long after B.S. which was made long after T.T.O.T.S.M.
It’s sort of like saying
“Play it again Sam.” Is from Casablanca, when it’s not. Ingrid Berman never says this line, but its in a few other movies misquoting the Casablanca quote.
