Does anyone know where I’d be able to find a list of countries which are predominantly catholic? I’ve tried four search engines to no avail.
http://geographyofreligion.homepage.com/catholic.jpg is a map of the world, using color codes to indicate the percentages of Catholics in each country. Unfortunately, the international borders are shown, but not the names of the countries. (Basically, the countries are all of Central and South America, the Philipines, and a good chunk of Europe.)
Alternatively, pick up a copy of the World Almanac and Book of Facts and leaf through the sections on the countries of the world, jotting down the name of any country where Catholicism exceed 50% of the population. (Religion is always the last “fact” in the first section (“People”) under each country. There are several version of the World almanac on-line, but they each require registration to use.
I would not go to the Catholic Encyclopedia On-line because it was written between 1909 and 1919 and there have been several geographic changes since it was written.

I think your program had a minor bug in it. I’m also surprised that the percentage is that high in Bahrein.
LESOTHO – 93%?? If that’s true, what’s the story?
