Cats in Sinks

I don’t have any pics :frowning:

My HoneyCat doesn’t like sinks. Or she doesn’t seem to have figured them out. But she loves sitting inside the kitchen cupboard. Not sleeping, just sitting amongst the pots and pans. I figure it’s because that’s where she’s found a mouse in the past, and so she’s waiting.

My old cat, TukTuk (gone now) used to jump into the bathroom sink and drink straight from the dripping tap. It was always fun to turn the water back on full blast and watch a stripy kitty shoot out of the sink at full speed.

Two cats in sink.

Both are my girls, the big gray one is Sebastian, the little torbie is Kero.

Cat in basket.

Cat in bowl of rose petals.

Cat in box.

Awwww, Anastasaeon, your cats are so adorable! I just love looking at pictures of other people’s pets.

What’s wrong with these cats? You lounge on the stove so you get the heat from the pilot light.

And then you catch on fire and head for the sink.

When I first got my cat he used to love hanging out in the sink, which drove my mom nuts because he’d leave wet cat footprints all over the place. It took forever to get him to stop- even the water sprayer and double sided tape all over the bathroom didn’t deter him. He eventually got the message that it was a Bad Idea to go in the sink, or at least not when anyone’s watching.

On a sink-related tangent, his new hobby is stealing the filter from the sink in the basement. It amuses me how much effort he’ll go through to play with it: the sink is too far off the ground to jump directly into, so he has to go around and climb across the duct system, grab it with his mouth, jump out, and carry it upstairs.

My cats love boxes. If there’s a box lying around, it will be sat in or on in short order. Same goes for bags.

My cat loved going into paper bags, like grocery bags. He never hung out in the sink, but I am being charmed by all these cute pictures of cats in sinks. This is one of my favorite thread!

Our cat Sneakers used to love the sink. He likes all small spaces (like boxes) he can fit his body into, but he’s not so into the sink anymore. Here’s a tiny pic of him when he did it all the time… and then this one from just a few days ago when he did it randomly again. He looks fat in that last one, but actually he was just starting to stand up and get outta there.

Sneaks also enjoys hanging out on top of the hamper in the bathroom, and on top of multiple rocking chairs .

My shiny new kitty Emma (well, she’s been around for 10 years, but she’s new to me) doesn’t care for the sink. She does, however, have a fascination with the crickets that I feed my lizards. I keep the cricket tank under the guest bed, and she’ll sit nose to the glass and literally watch for hours. The crickets are oblivious and go about their crickety business.

I don’t have a pic yet, but I’ll post one when I do.

Stars Apart, in the recent sink photo of your cat, is that someone’s belly and hand in the right side mirror reflection???!

HB,who readily confesses to looking as much at backgrounds to photos than the actual subjects!

One of my parents’ cats goes into the sink when he wants the water turned on for him. Both of the cats like to go into the bathtub in the master bedroom and lap up the water that remains on the jacuzzi jets.

Oh, and cat in flower pot.

And on the left side, just a belly is reflected! And it sent me into a fit of giggles! (seeing anyone’s belly makes me giggle… some kind of reverse Pilsbury Doughboy reaction, or something).

I, too, scan the backgrounds of all pics.

My two were raised to like the sink, sort of accidently. When they were teeny, I’d put them in the bathroom at night because I was afraid they’d meet with disaster while I slept. They didn’t like their sleeping basket when I put it in the bathroom, so I tried lining the sink with a soft blanket and they loved it.

They* live* to drink from the faucet and managed to combine that with sitting in the sink. A couple of weeks ago, Tansy sat down in the sink even though I had the water on for them to drink. Violet decided she wanted a drink but her head wouldn’t fit between the faucet and Tansy. So Violet put her front paws on Tansy’s back and leaned in to drink from the water in the sink. The angle wasn’t good, so she moved to sit entirely on Tansy, like she was a little island.

That lasted maybe six seconds before Tansy realized the water she was sitting in was *wet * and Violet was sitting on her and that was just wrong. Big explosion of water and fur and claws-- they looked just like those cartoons when animals are fighting and all you can see is arms and legs emerging from a cloud. It was one of the very few times I’ve regretted not having a video camera.

Hahaha! :smack: That’s my brother. He is wearing pants, thankfully, but went without the shirt. (You can see my reflection in the blue top and pajama pants if you look to the left of him.) Now how did I miss that?!

Well, at least no one mentioned the playboy, lotion, and tissue.

One of my cats loves the sink (and the tub - she lives for tub rubsies). She is the bathroom guardian - we don’t dare attempt bathing without her supervision. I have tons of pictures of the girls - I have to figure out how to get them on the net some day.

Here is another one I just got online, of one of the cats in the bathtub. Cats really are strange creatures.

How about the previously posted cat in a spare tire? I don’t have any cat in a sink.
