I spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrating in homes with cats, and my allergies have just kicked my ASS. Of course, I would go to both places again without hesitation. I’m just a little surprised at how bad it’s been. I was hideously allergic to cats as a kid, then in my early 20s, it subsided quite a bit and I could sometimes spend time in houses with cats without effect, but now it’s come back with a vengeance.

My kittens spent most of xmas curled up on either myself or my bf. Machavelli, my 2 yr old, and Ryo-Ohki, my 4 month old, loved having the wrapping paper on the floor from the presents to play with! You should talk to your doctor about allergy medicine if those are houses you often visit.
Cat/dog hair allergies are fuuun. They all seem to adore me instantly too… 'Course that in itself isn’t too much of a problem, it’s the fact that I like them as well that’s more trouble. 
That would be the pets that instantly adore me… confusingly worded post there.
I have asthma and truly horrendous cat allergies. I also live in a 1 bedroom condo with not one, not two, but THREE of the most psychotic cats in the Universe.
Solution - flonase for the nasal and eye problems. I feel great since getting this perscription. Also works wonders on pollen, etc.
Don’t ask why I have cats…just remember that I am a mental patient.
