Obama is expected to draw approximately 10% of likely voters that Kerry didn’t.
Given that only 10% of black voters are available to the Republicans (black Republicans and independents combined), it’s possible that as many as 2% of black voters went for Obama because he’s black.

Probably about 60% of Alabama will vote for Bush. Presumably most black Alabamians will vote for Obama, and let’s say blacks count for about 20% of the voting population (we have a very high ex-con rate among blacks here so I’m not sure how many are ineligible to vote). Overall in this election, polls say that age is a more important factor than race in how people are voting.
Alan Keyes and Cynthia McKinney are on the ballot. They’re both a hundred per cent black but they got little if any of the black vote. Obama’s only half black, but he got over 90 per cent of the black vote.
Clearly black Americans are racist against black candidates.
