The Dope community may be too small these days to support it, but I know in at least one past year we had a thread for those of us alone on Christmas - it was nice to check in with a few others in the same boat.

So I’m going to be by myself for Christmas for the first time in…I think ever. My Ex has our son that day, so I won’t be spending it with him. I don’t have anything lined up with friends (and post-divorce I have few friends). A work-buddy invited me over for Thanksgiving, which was really awesome and I was tickled to hang with with his family, we all had fun. But I’m at loose ends for X-mas. I’m visiting family in Illinois next week, so I’ll have seen all the family back there already, and can’…

So what do you do if you're alone Christmas day?

Due to scheduling, I’m evitably stuck at home alone on Christmas. I have my daughter the day before. The day after Christmas - Boxing Day to us - I pick her up and head off to my side of the family. But in between she’s not here, I have no relatives nearby and available, and going all the way to my parents’ and doubling back to get the Small One just isn’t logistically feasible. Alone on christmas, what can I do besides mope?

Im in college and I can’t make it the 5 hour drive to be with my family for christmas… this was all kind of sudden. Im already getting down on christmas eve because everyone left town and I’m left here. Southern ILlinois is a boring area as well. What can I do to keep busy and have a somewhat enjoyable holiday?
