Celebrities on psychiatric holds

Recently I read about a celebrity of sorts who was involuntarily taken to the hospital on a mental health hold after his wife called emergency services concerned he was suicidal. He told her he was going to kill himself and then started to fill the garage with car exhaust, and his wjfe called. From the report, he was taken to a hospital and then asked to use the bathroom and ran off, they went looking for him and he decided to return to the hospital. Now, for most people, I feel like this would result for sure in the person being held for at least a couple days. But after taking his shoes, the psychiatrist talked with him and he said he managed to persuade the doctor it was all just a big misunderstanding and he was released. Telling someone your going to kill yourself, followed by some type of attempt, followed by running and escaping from the hospital would imo result in non celebrity people being held at least a while. Are even some psychiatrists swayed to give different treatment to celebrities? Im not sure why this was so surprising to me, although I know alot of people will treat celebs different, I think of psychiatrists as being unimpressed by such status. Perhaps he really didnt need to be held, but it just seemed like alot.

On a sidenote, in hindsight part of the story was rather comical. After escaping from the hospital, he had a show he was supposed to perform at, and he went there, where his crew told him the police had been there looking for him and they said something about a hospital. He left and went to another gig, where his crew there told him the same thing “what the hell is going on? The police were looking for you, they said you escaped from a mental hospital? What did you do?” and at that point he decided he better go back.

So who was it?
