On the men’s side, we have:
Trace Adkins
Stephen Baldwin
Gary Busey
Penn Jillette
Lil Jon
Bret Michaels
Dennis Rodman
Dee Snider
And then, on the ladies’ side:
Marilu Henner
La Toya Jackson
Claudia Jordan
Omarosa
Lisa Rinna
Brande Roderick
Rodman & Busey is an All Star?
Thats funny!
8 Guys (7 guys + Rodman) and 6 Gals? Guess that means teams won’t start out being separated by gender.
Bunch of Misfits on both sides. Can’t wait…NOT!
It’s really just “fan favorites”.
It sounds great. It’s definitely the junkiest of junk shows I watch, but it should be interesting. Perhaps this will be the last go of it.
Stacked for maximum crazy…or maximum hair.
Anyone else watching tonight?
I swore, swore, swore that I wouldn’t get sucked into this season. But, it’s like a train wreck. Impossible to turn away.
No surprise that Omarosa is already backstabbing. I hate that woman with the intensity of a thousand suns. Keep hoping that she’ll crawl back under the rock that she came from, but it never happens.
Anyhow, I’m watching and will try my best to ignore the witch. Otherwise the show is pretty good. We’ll see how the boardroom goes.
I’m watching it right now.
It did kind of piss me off when Trace was essentially telling his team not to bother with making good meatballs, because he had a whale of donor. The “he who has the richest friends” challenges are always a big pet peeve of mine.
In that case, why even bother with the task? Why not just have an empty storefront and spend all day making calls?
Totally agree. They need to close that loophole allowing the teams to ignore the public sales. Watching the celebrities mingling with the public and getting small donations is what makes the challenges interesting. That empty restaurant with Trace and the others was boring as hell to watch.
Easily fixed. From now on, they should require a minimum amount of contributions from the public. Even if it’s just $500 that’s enough to force the teams to get off their lazy asses and encourage the public to come in.
Geez, Trump seemed to hate Bret from the beginning. How dare he come back to Apprentice? At least that seemed to be Trump’s attitude. No surprise that Bret is gone. Trump was just looking for an excuse. Bret would have never made it more than a few weeks.
I wish Adam Carolla was back instead of one of Penn/Dee.
I wish that just once, Bret would have said to Piers, “I’m here because I’m not afraid to lose.” On the other hand, as a strong supporter of JDRF, I’m glad he wasn’t captain. It would have been hard to see money intended for diabetes research diverted, even to an organization as well known as the Red Cross.
A) I am soooo glad Trump was forced to ditch that men vs. women thing.
B) It seems to me the teams are wildly uneven in talent/brains.
C) Brande was smart enough to know not to bring Omarosa in, and she was absolutely right that Trump wouldn’t have fired her. Not out of love, but purely for the sake of ratings. Is there anyone who watched tonight’s ep who isn’t dying to see Omarosa crash and burn?
D) If Trump was so, what, peeved? at Brett coming back, why did he invite him??
I didn’t get why Trump was so peeved that Bret agreed to come back, since he asked him in the first place, as obviously it was to raise more money for his charity. Duh. Why didn’t he just say “I returned because I wanted to raise more money”?
Brandi was right to not bring back Assorama, there was no way in hell Trump would have fired her.
The teams seem wildly uneven, Trace’s team has all the strong intelligent players (other than Busey) while Brandi’s team is all the leftovers who will inevitably have major meltdowns.
eta: I swear I didn’t read your post StarvingButStrong before writing mine, yet we basically said the same things!
This is my first experience with Oamarosa, and she is horribly toxic. It’s making me root for Piers Morgan. She is really bad, and totally unlikeable. Bret called it correctly - she will make it hell for whoever is her next target.
Brandi really should have been fired. In the business world, you have money people, but they are rarely in charge. There is no way a project manager should have gotten away with being so totally out of touch with what was going on. I don’t know why Trump was so hot to fire Bret, but he really turned his back on a project manager that did such an obviously poor job.
Some other thoughts -
Kinda agree with the Baldwin, although I never would have said it out loud
Lisa Renna is really horrible. Just one of those marginal chicks who demands attention - did you see her pushing to hug that stranger who made the donation?
I hope Penn does well
Who is that black model on Bret’s team with the big mouth? Yuck.
Why is Rodman so hot on Oamarosa? That seemed weird to me for some reason.
And, one moment had me yelling at the TV in joy - when Ivanka called that black model out on saying that Piers was whining “like a woman”. I rarely get offended by supposed sexism, but that was over the top, and I was so glad Ivanka took her to task. I respect her more and more everytime I see the show. Good on her!
Piers Morgan is nearly as big of a douchebag as Trump.
Omarosa is bitch.
Brande is complete moron for not having her ducks in a row.
Gary Busey/Dennis Rodman is a trainwreck waiting to happen.
Gosh, I [del]love[/del] hate this show.
That was such a strange boardroom. Usually Trump digs into who did what on the team. Who contributed and provided leadership. Who was a distraction.
Trump didn’t get into any of that. Nor did they show all that much during the episode. I have no idea what the dynamics were inside the teams. Except Trace wasn’t interested in doing anything except calling his donors.
I hope the next challenges don’t come down to who has the biggest donors. It was so boring watching Trace Adkins ignore the challenge. He didn’t care what the meatballs tasted like. He didn’t sell to the public. The whole challenge was sabotaged.
Trace had it right, though: if the ONLY metric on winning is raising the most money, then that’s what you concentrate on. And if he knows he has enough money already promised, then all he needs to do to win is concentrate on getting those promised funds to come in.
What the meatballs tasted like didn’t matter, so long as you didn’t actually poison anyone. Outside of the stunt on tv, it’s not like any donor was going to taste both and give their money to the best.
It reminded me a bit of a previous challenge, where the challenge was to ‘design’ an ice cream flavor and sell cones in the park. The women spent nearly a full day arguing over what flavor and testing a few. The men’s leader (sorry, don’t remember who) said the equivalent of “It doesn’t matter. Just make it chocolate with something mixed in.” and then they went on to plan sales strategy and advertising and so on. And they won.
Of course, by doing it this blatantly, Trace has made it obvious to everyone how pointless the ‘task’ part of the challenge is, and Trump (and producers) must really, really hate that. I predict that future fund raising tasks will have added criteria for winning. Like 50% for amount of money, 25% for coming up with the best advertising, and 25% for the quality of the ‘product.’
Oh, and if Brande goes out soon – which she ought to – then they can change the teams names to Black vs. White.
I love watching Trace kick butt last night! I just pray that he didn’t burn all of his financial bridges too early the game.
God bless you and him always!!!

Holly (a day one fan of him)
Couple of things:[ul][li]Bret Michaels was invited back to be a judge on the other side of the table (like Piers was). Joan Rivers and Arsenio Hall will also be back in that capacity; I don’t remember if Trump named anybody else (John Rich may well be one). Trump was astonished Michaels declined that offer and instead wanted to compete again; in Trump’s (and apparently Piers’) mind, there is little worse than coming off a winning season only to lose. Trace Adkins came back solely to win money for the Red Cross; he’s on record saying he feels he owes them because they helped his family when his house burned down. Now that he’s accomplished what he set out to do, I wonder if he’ll be phoning it in until he’s fired.[/ul][/li]
I’m actually really surprised to see Penn Jillette back; he made no secret of the fact the show is more bullshit than anything else the last time he was on, sharing podcast time with Adam Carolla to explain what wasn’t shown and how manipulative the producers are.
^^^ Since you brought up why Trace returned, I have a question for whoever wants to answer it. A while back I read a write up on why he was coming back and people left messages underneath it saying that Trace doesn’t need help from the Red Cross with him being financially set through his being a celebrity. Do you agree with such a statement that celebrity people shouldn’t be allowed to get any form of Red Cross aid?
God bless you and him always!!!

Holly (a day one fan of Trace)
I didn’t want to watch. I swore I wouldn’t watch. I watched. My eyes My head! HELP ME!! I’m worried I’m going to have a Donald ‘do’, soon.
