Herb Jeffries, the U.S.'s first black singing cowboy dies at 0 points.
Wow, what an interesting person. A lot to learn from obits.
Gabriel García Marquez and Maya Angelou weren’t exactly obscure people, so I’m a little surprised they’re uniques. Gabo was known to have dementia too. In all these years of playing this game, I think 16th is the highest I’ve been.
So many celebrities, so little time.
I remember quite some years ago when Angelou was so offended by picketers from the WBC here in Topeka she couldn’t do an engagement at the performing arts center.
It’s rather interesting that of the twenty two celebrities that have died so far thirteen are uniques.
Legendary big wave surfer and renowned oceanographer Ricky Grigg dies at 77
Science Fiction author Jay Lake passed away at 5:45am this morning: http://www.jlake.com/2014/06/01/cancer-the-end-has-come/
For one of the few times that I grieve for the points I earn…
51 points, to be exact. And it looks like basset hound, Little Nemo, Captain Klutz and myself had him.
According to my records Captain Klutz had Lake as an alternate.
But, while searching, I find CAMJAY77 has Lake as a pick.
The death of Lake puts all four of the players who had Lake in the top ten, and CAMJAY77 is tied for the lead with Randy Seltzer.

Great, so now I’m tied for 65th place.
Well, I play DeathPool on another board, with a completely different list of people. I just found that I may be in first place there. I’d had Fred Phelps, and now one of my remaining picks, a woman named Sante Kimes(whom I’d detailed as “murderer, slaver”) died in prison May 19th. I have a total of 37 points, and that’s big over there, as there aren’t as many players.
But I’m sure someone else will die and put me out of the lead.
Alice reunited with Sam the Butcher:
Ann B. Davis who played Alice on "The Brady Bunch"has died at 12 points.
Just saw on Facebook, Today show says Ann B. Davis (Alice on Brady Bunch) passed away. RIP, Ann.
And I guess I am in that tie for 65th place as well …d’oh!
Actually, it will be a tie for 66th place. wolf meister has had their virginity in this game taken by the housekeeper. A unique pick.
Jeez, Ann, couldn’t you wait another six months? You were on next year’s shortlist!
stomps off to revise
R.I.P., Ann. You were part of my fun childhood when Friday nights on ABC included The Brady Bunch and The Partridge Family, and then for years later with The Brady Bunch on afternoon reruns.
Could be worse. I’ve had Katherine Crowe on my list the last two years and took her off this year’s list.
