Jazztimes has it, and so does Wikipedia. By now it looks like Golub’s passing is clearly established, although at quick glance there’s no mention on his own web site.

I’m going to declare the Opening Kickoff a tie. As we say in the rule about not picking minors, we’re macabre, but not that macabre. I looked around just a little and there’s no way of telling just when each died, and I don’t care to dig for it.

I’d never heard of Golub, and while I’d heard of Cuomo of course, I knew very little about the man. I’m truly sorry for their families.
I agree. It would suck for one of us to pick a 1/1 death and still lose the Opening Kickoff. Congrats on our tie, Little Pig !

The Baen Books Facebook page announced that alternative history author Robert Conroy has died due to cancer. Not that I think anyone had him but the only info I see elsewhere is that he was born in 1938. His books always looked interesting but I never got around to reading them.
That’s a shock. He’s one of my favorites. He’d posted messages about books he was planning on without ever mentioning he was ill.
