Celebrity Death Pool 2015

He wrote that?

St. Peter had better not let him through the Pearly Gates until he repents. :stuck_out_tongue:

Not exactly. He reworked le Moribond by Jacques Brel, a somewhat edgier song. Really, it was Terry Jacks that turned it into total goop.

I wasn’t aware that Brel did anything edgy, but you learn something new every day.

At any rate, McKuen seems to have been solely responsible for the lyrics to “Seasons in the Sun.” Terry Jacks certainly didn’t help, but send 'em both to a good stretch in purgatory, I say.

At least he died in January. After all, “it’s hard to die when birds are singing in the sky.”

This is a family that should stay far away from bathtubs.

For those that have Bobbi in the DP this year - she survived.

Well, when it was released in December 1973 that “total goop” went to the top of the charts in the US, UK & Canada. Wikipedia:

I was 12 years old when it was released and I had a brand-new transistor radio, a Ross radio, the same model as in this picture. It one of my very first purchases with my paper route money. For being a kid and my first ever “real” purchase with my own earned money, and hearing music come out of that box, it was a slice of heaven.

I remember that song with fondness.
We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun,
But the wine and the song,
like the seasons, have all gone.

Treacly crap was the main musical genre of the 1970s. Just look at Smapti’s “Best of 197x” polls in Cafe Society.

(Cool radio, btw.)

Suge Knight, accused in a fatal hit and run, may be dead himself. It could be a rumor, but here’s an article. We shall see if it appears elsewhere soon.

If true that would be the first time that site posted something real.

Oops. sorry, I saw this news on another board.

That would be a lots of points though.

I have Suge Knight on my list. The site listed has a graphic from KTLA Los Angeles but their website doesn’t have the story.

It must be a fake, or a false rumor, and I was too gullible to check around more before posting.

If it was true six folks would get points for Knight, and we’d have a new leader in the game.

Co-owner of the New York Giants Anna Mara, widow of Wellington Mara, kicks it for 15 points on Sunday.

Looks like Whitney Houston’s daughter might be circling the drain. Anyone have Bobbi Kristina Brown on their list?

No more mysteries, Geraldine McEwan dies at 82.

I scrolled on some of the pictures from her early parts, and goodness, she was a beautiful woman!

As well as Miss Marple she played the witch in Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves.

The Vorlon does. It would be a unique pick.

Sorry!

Former Detroit Tiger Dave Bergman, Age 61, has circled the bases one last time.
