Celebrity Death Pool 2015

Recently, perhaps in January, Janis Joplin’s guitarist, founder of Big Brother and the Holding Company, had a heart attack and died in his wife’s arms. Interestingly, he was worth 27 points, so there is an odd symmetry there.

There was a catastrophic double helicopter crash in Argentina containing the crew and contestants in a European reality series. Ten people died, including three French Olympians:
Sailor Florence Arthaud, age 57
Swimmer Camille Muffat, age 25
Boxer Alexis Vastine, age 28

This happened about a mile from my house. Friends and coworkers were involved in the search.

Norman Lee is now officially presumed dead. 53 points.

:frowning:

Marvel comics? Oh, come on. You know how this goes. To save his loved one(s), he had to fake his own death. He is now on some secluded island learning more about his newly found powers from a wizened native.

Terry Pratchett has died at 34 points.

And more points that I said I would be sad to get. But I get them.

:frowning: Anyhow.

RIP

OTOH, if the March Madness continues I may get a hat trick for the month.

Bummer.

Even more than LOTR, Discworld really showed what could be done within the fantasy genre.

He was one of my alternates too. :frowning:

According to the DeathMistress’ tallies on New Year’s Day, 16 players had Terry Pratchett. Including very few near the top of the list AFAICT, so those who had him will be moving up in the standings.

Wow. That took the wind out of me.

No more Discworld books.

:frowning:

and none of them are me

Fuck Alzheimer’s.

Seriously.

Yet another tragic death in which I take no joy or points.

Damn.

Did you forget to pay Baker?

Whatever (as in, your schtick is getting old), the rest of us earn our points.

I was reading, that in a 2012 Interview, he had transferred Discworld assets to his family. Granted, not the same voice, but I don’t think the pessimism is needed here.
